About Us

Sean Lee is a High School Senior in Virginia. He is the founder and mentor of Future Coders For All. His commitment to creating a more inclusive STEM environment led him to start a mentoring program specifically designed to serve underrepresented communities. He led his school’s Robotics & Engineering club website development for two years before starting his own mentoring program. Through the club, he participated in numerous outreach events introducing STEM to young students. He started coding when he was in elementary school and continually aims to inspire the next generation of coders. He lives in Fairfax County with his family and a dog. Besides coding, he loves making music and playing sports.

Sean was selected to participate in the 2023 AI Summer Academy | Iribe Initiative for Inclusion and Diversity at University of Maryland. He worked on a research project where he explored the applications of Artificial Intelligence and Python Coding. When moving towards a goal, robots rely on explicit communication or instructions to avoid collisions or getting stuck. The ability to model these interactions can help robots predict the uncertain behavior of pedestrians in the absence of explicit communication. This project developed a machine learning model of crowd interactions that could allow robots to safely navigate to their destination.
